BACON-WRAPPED HOT DOG BITES
Adapted via Betty Crocker
Serves: 30 to 40
Ingredients:
♦ 1 lb bacon (14 slices)
♦ 1 (12-oz) package all-beef hot dogs (14 total), cut into thirds
♦ toothpicks
♦ 1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce (homemade or store-bought)
Directions:
Set oven control to broil. Spray 13×9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray, and set aside.
Spray broiler rack and pan with cooking spray. Cut each bacon slice crosswise into 3 pieces. Wrap each piece around 1 sausage, securing with toothpick; place on broiler rack in pan. Broil with tops about 6 inches from heat 12 to 16 minutes, turning once, until bacon is crisp.
Meanwhile, heat you favorite homemade (or store-bought) barbecue sauce in a heavy saucepan over medium heat – should take 3 to 4 minutes.
Heat oven to 350°F. Transfer the hot dogs from your broiler pan to the reserved glass baking dish. Pour sauce over hot dogs; turn to coat with sauce. Bake about 20 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Serve hot.
